Questions about pricing

What counts as a request?

A request is a call to a dataset via API, SDK, CLI or MCP that returns a result. Requests with invalid parameters don't count, and neither does the catalog, the changelog or listing the MCP tools.

What happens when the quota is used up?

We send an email at 80% of your quota. On the Free plan, the API then responds with status 429 until the first of the month. On Starter, Pro and Enterprise your application keeps running: there is a 10% buffer above the quota, and only after that does 429 come. There are never extra costs, and nothing is upgraded automatically. A bigger plan raises the quota immediately.

Can I switch or cancel at any time?

Yes. Starter and Pro can be canceled monthly. A bigger plan takes effect immediately. If you cancel or move to a smaller plan, you keep your quota until the end of the month. Both are done in your account, through Stripe's customer portal.

Where can I see my usage?

In your account: requests this month, quota, keys and webhooks. Invoices, payment method, plan changes and cancellation are in Stripe's customer portal, which you open from your account. Every API response also reports the status in the X-Kontingent-Limit and X-Kontingent-Verbraucht headers.

Can I run a product for customers on the Free plan?

The Free plan covers basic use within your own company, for example payroll, internal tools or trying things out. If you use the values in a product or service for your customers, you need at least Starter.

What does the early warning on Pro do?

Webhooks report not only new values but also announced changes, for example when a law sets a new threshold for next year and the amount only follows later by ordinance. That way your software can plan the year-end changeover early.

What is the change email?

On Starter, Pro and Enterprise we send you a short email the day after every change to the data, with a link to the evidence in the changelog.

Are the prices net of VAT?

Yes, all prices are net, plus VAT (Umsatzsteuer). The service is aimed at businesses. With a valid VAT ID from another EU country, the reverse-charge procedure applies.

Do I get an invoice?

Yes, automatically by email with every payment, and any time in the customer portal.

What does the Enterprise plan offer?

A personal contact, onboarding by video call, contract and invoice instead of a credit card, a quota to match your needs up to five million requests a month, and custom datasets by agreement. We set availability, response times and the contract term in the agreement. Tell us which datasets and volumes you need.

What's the availability?

We aim for 99.5% average monthly uptime. That's a target, not a guarantee. On the Enterprise plan, we agree on availability and response times in the contract.
